Features: fruits separating into mericarps; lanceolate or linear-lanceolate or linear; with carpophore bifid to the middle; with short beak or with long beak; mericarps homomorphic; glabrous or covered with bristles or tuberculate; 4.0-11.0 mm long; 1.0-3.5 mm broad; terete; with primary ribs; all primary ribs inconspicuous or all primary ribs equal, filiform; calyx teeth obsolete; stylopodia low conical or stylopodia conical; styles short or styles medium; erect or spreading; cell borders indistinct; surface with small tubercles; cuticle smooth or cuticle sparse striate; cuticle on hairs smooth or cuticule on hairs remote-striate; exocarp cells small; commissure narrow, exocarp almost reaches carpophore; inner fibrous mesocarp obsolete; mesocarp parenchyma not lignified; vascular bundles compact; vittae obsolete in mature fruit; rib sectetory ducts obsolete; endocarp not lignified; endosperm with broad, deep groove on commissural side; embryo with two cotyledons.
